Urban expansion of Lusail City near Doha
Northeast of Doha, the Lusail City extension is intended to create a connected place to live and work for up to 450,000 people. Residential neighbourhoods, workplaces and education, healthcare and leisure facilities are to be combined in a coherent urban structure.
The starting point is a 3,500-hectare undeveloped waterfront site. Different uses and transport, utility and communications infrastructure must be coordinated to meet the needs of around 200,000 residents, 160,000 employees and 90,000 visitors.
Since 2012, Dorsch Qatar LLC has supported delivery through construction supervision services for eleven construction packages. The team monitors progress, quality and health, safety and environment (HS&E), reviews submissions and supports inspections, testing, handover and completion. This helps ensure the coordinated delivery and required quality of key transport, utility and building works.

Project Activities
Dorsch Qatar’s scope of services covers construction supervision consultancy for eleven packages within the city extension:
- Marina bridges comprising six road bridges and two pedestrian bridges
- Main roads, utility networks and interchanges
- Residential and waterfront residential towers
- Utility structures and retail areas along the waterfront and boulevard
- Landscaping and Entertainment Island
- Monitoring of construction progress, quality and health, safety and environment (HS&E) on site
- Review and approval of submissions, with support for inspections and testing
- Support for handover, completion and maintenance services

- The scheme is intended to transform 3,500 hectares of undeveloped waterfront into a mixed-use city extension
